>> My name is Tom Balshi. I am a board certified prosthodontist and I specialize in dental implant reconstructions in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. The specialty of prosthodontics is one of the seven dental specialties and if focuses on the reconstructions of missing parts. Missing teeth, multiple missing teeth, the replacement of teeth either with fixed or removable prosthesis or dentures. The focus of my specialty area is in the use of dental implants to provide patients with permanent teeth. A typical day at PI Dental Center starts off at 7 o'clock in the morning, where we have a staff meeting to review the cases that we are going to be seeing that day, and then typically we do most of our surgery in the morning and most of the prosthetic reconstructions in the afternoon. So, on a typical day, we would have a patient come in who has, you know, advanced periodontal disease, maybe they are going to be -- they know that they are going to be losing teeth because of the bone loss and so typically we would deal with them in such a way as to be able to get them through this procedure in one visit. It is something that we have actually trademarked with the federal government as called 'Teeth in a Day,' and that process allows patients to never experience the use of a removal denture. So in one day, they can come in, we can remove all of their teeth, clean up any abscesses that they have, put in the implants, connect the set of permanent teeth to the implants and they leave with a totally new smile.
