A place for the St. Thomas Community to experiment and flex their creative muscles;
to highlight talent and resources from across the university and in our local community;
and to facilitate connections.
create[space] host three event types:
Open House Events: These are casual, open events where students can drop in anytime to create, tinker, and collaborate. The space is open with different stations focused on making, art, prototyping, etc. Students network and share ideas in a flexible format. All are welcome, first come-first serve on supplies.
RSVP Events: These are structured workshops or guided sessions that require RSVP. They have a dedicated focus like guided painting, visiting artist, new making trend, etc. create[space] student creators support students to gain new skills. These events will activate the TommieLink waitlist within the first 30 minutes of the event.
Collaborative Events: These events bring together different student groups and university departments for creative co-hosting. Clubs, organizations, academic programs, and other campus units pair up with create[space] to collaboratively plan and host events aligned with their interests. The collaborative events can be open to the whole community or only to the members of the collaborating partner.
