Thrive and Feel—Opening for Psychological Associate (Pre-Doctorate or Post-Doctorate)
Thrive and Feel is a dynamic, growing private practice located in Pasadena, CA. Under the leadership of Dr. Mary Kate Roohan, our practice specializes in providing individual therapy to adults. We utilize evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and creative approaches like drama therapy. Our mission is to empower clients to live values-driven lives. We operate on a fee for-service model and offer sliding scale fee arrangements where appropriate.
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Psychological Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for pre-licensed clinicians who are passionate about working collaboratively in a supportive and growth-oriented environment. With a strong emphasis on creative and evidence-based modalities, Thrive and Feel offers an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Associate to gain hands-on experience while cultivating the skills needed to launch a successful private practice.
Position Description
Position Requirements:
- Completion of a license-eligible doctoral degree in psychology (e.g., PsyD, PhD) or at least 3 years of experience in doctoral program
- Build and maintain a caseload of 10+ clinical hours per week.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision with Dr. Mary Kate Roohan.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in our electronic health record system.

Compensation and Benefits
At Thrive and Feel, we prioritize creating a nurturing and empowering work environment. We offer the following:
- Fee Split: 50/50 or 60/40 therapist/practice fee split arrangement (depending on caseload numbers). Client session fees start at $200/session (with an option for a sliding scale fee).
- Entrepreneurial Support: Training in private practice fundamentals, including marketing strategies, SEO, and website development to prepare you for building your own practice.
- Training and Supervision: Weekly one-on-one supervision with Dr. Mary Kate Roohan, including the integration of creative arts and evidence-based therapies.
- Continuing Education Stipend: Annual stipend for CEUs or professional development.
- Flexible Schedule: Clinicians set their own hours and may work up to 100% remotely.
- Option to Launch Your Own Practice: Upon licensure, you will have the option to open up your practice and take your clients with you, ensuring a seamless transition into your own private practice.
