Project Scope: Our summer internship program brings together a talented team of highly motivated students interested in pursuing technical and non-technical careers in Information Technology. This summer the team of interns will create a powerful solution to help facilitate our employees’ professional development. Our 10-week program will give students the opportunity to work as a team. The team will consist of a Project Manager, a Business Analyst, Software Developers, and Software Testers. Together the team will build a Low-Code/No-Code knowledge management portal to empower our employees to access professional development resources, training materials, and training paths. This program is open to college undergraduates of all levels, with preference to rising juniors and seniors.
Job Overview: As a software quality assurance engineer intern, you will have the opportunity to use and grow your technical skills. Ideally, you will have strong analytical capabilities to understand business and system requirements. Within the team, you will be responsible for translating these requirements into comprehensive test cases and scenarios. This is a great opportunity to learn (alongside our experienced engineers) how to design and develop test plans, test case, and test scripts within an Agile delivery team. Candidates should have a strong interest in technology, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic federal business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the team to understand business requirements for the knowledge management portal.
2. Assist in the design and creation of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the knowledge management portal.
3. Perform data cleansing and validation tasks to maintain data integrity within the platform.
4. Support ongoing initiatives to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and user adoption of tools.
5. Solve problems and communicate effectively with team members.
6. Assist in documentation efforts related to best practices and standard operating procedures.
7. Work independently and think creatively to ensure the highest quality products and services
Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in automation testing; familiarity with testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Jenkins is preferred but not required; willingness to learn these platforms and functionalities is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to think strategically and organize information from multiple sources.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and extract meaningful insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Duration and Compensation: The expected duration of the internship is 10 weeks, starting May 18th and ending July 31st. The intern is expected to work full time hours (from 9am – 5pm, Monday through Friday). This is a paid internship opportunity. Intern can work remotely within the continental United States.
