THE ROLE
As a Concession Stand Attendant at The Oncenter, you will be responsible for selling food and beverages during events using a point-of-sale system while supporting the front line as assigned by the Stand Lead.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Greet guests and sell menu items in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Project a positive attitude and energy to guests.
- Support the front line by preparing items for sale, restocking product, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Input orders into point-of-sale system and accept payment.
- Clean and sanitize all food service equipment and sweep and mop floors after every shift.
- Communicate guest orders to keep a smooth workflow and maintain fast service.
- Adhere to all safety procedures pertaining to the stand and overall conduct.
- Follow direction of Stand Lead and Food & Beverage Management.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance, and professional relationship with coworkers at all times.
- Provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with New York State laws and regulations as well as Company policies, practices, and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months’ experience in a food & beverage environment preferred.
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Desire and ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to make professional, independent, and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- ServSafe & TIPS certification a plus.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Must be able to walk/stand or long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
- Must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 30 lbs+, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
