We are looking for people who may be interested in providing IHSS services to adults with developmental disabilities in Alameda and/or Contra Costa County. Some of the individuals we support are LGBTQ+, transgender, nonbinary, or otherwise looking for providers who are knowledgeable about and affirming of LGBTQ+ communities.
Candidates do not need to already be registered as IHSS providers. AIMS can help interested candidates understand and navigate the IHSS provider enrollment process.
We are specifically looking for people who are:
- LGBTQ+ affirming and knowledgeable
- Comfortable working with adults with developmental disabilities
- Respectful of different gender identities, sexual orientations, names, and pronouns
- Reliable and comfortable providing one-on-one support
- Interested in part-time or flexible work
Role varies by individual. It can include things like helping someone with appointments, errands, household tasks, community activities, organization, meal preparation, or other daily living support.
